Time to select our breeders for next year!

September and October are the months we take a long hard look and feel for all our new breeding flocks. We have quite a list of things to look for including shape, back, heart girth, head, wings, breast and comb. We also weigh our chicks every 2 weeks, so we look at who weighed the most over 14 wks of growth. Every pullet and cockerel is judged and rated on a 1 to 5 scale. We expect to have 5 breeding pens this next season, our most yet!
